“We proclaim that "JESUS IS ALIVE" and that He is sitting in the heavenly places at the right hand of GOD the father, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” (Ephesians 1:20-23).

Hn. Bishop (Dr) Margaret Wanjiru is the founder and presiding Bishop of Jesus is Alive Ministries (JIAM) which has a huge congregation with international presence.  She also has a Television programme called “The Glory is Here”.She is an author of many Christian books and also oversees a monthly magazine namely ‘Faith digest'.

She was elected the Member of Parliament for Starehe constituency in Kenya’s 2007 elections and was appointed to the Cabinet as Assistant Minister for Housing 1n 2008. She is a vocal participant in governmental policy and leadership issues.

Hon Bishop Margaret Wanjiru was born into a poor family of casual workers but her hard working mother as able to put her through both primary and high school. She paid her own way through college by working at humble jobs including that of a house girl, hawker, and office cleaner On graduation from college she was employed in sales and rose to become a marketing executive but later left to start her own businesses.

Later on in life she gave her life to Jesus Christ and became a born again Christian. She started preaching in the streets of Nairobi but her Ministry grew in leaps and bounds and now they have their own sanctuary among many other properties and businesses. She was ordained by Bishop Arthur Kitonga in 1997.

The Mission of her ministry is, “to bring salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, redemption and righteousness to all the nations of the world”. This is done through television, radio, crusades, conferences, books and tapes.

Hon Bishop Wanjiru has an honorary Doctorate in Divinity.
