Somewhere At This Moment Someone is Hurting
by Bob Valleau

Shine

"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them." (Isaiah 42:16 N.I.V)

Somewhere, at this moment:

A child flinches from the hands of an abuser.
A teenager decides to do drugs for the first time.
A man thinks suicide is the answer to all he has lost.
A woman cries as depression envelops her soul.

A couple accuses each other of being unfaithful.
A boss terminates a good employee.
A friend holds the hand of one near death's door.
A family longs for a relative who fails to keep in touch.

A police officer arrests someone who hurts children.
A mother prays for her teen to resist temptation.
A buddy calls a friend who wants to give up.
A husband helps his wife overcome years of sadness.

A pastor counsels a couple who want to call it quits.
A good worker is offered a dream job.
A funeral celebrates a life well-lived.
A reunion heals a family that was once estranged.

On a hill called, Golgotha, in a land where He was raised, hangs an innocent man for all to see. He does not have to die but He is destined to, and He does it out of love with humility. So that somewhere, at this moment, He can touch a needy soul by using those He chooses . . . namely you and me.
