“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus”. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

1. In thanksgiving we testify we are not self – sufficient, that all we get comes from God.
2. Thanksgiving derives joy. It is only in Lord that the mind can be preserved in peace.
3. In thanks giving we reinvest whatever the Lord has given us back to him, therefore laying up treasures, “that moths cannot get to”
4. In thanks giving we demonstrate maturity. We know that even our adversity will work to the good of our souls and that God will lend us victorious through it.
5. Thanks giving shows accountability. We disclose what we have been given by God and the results of our activities. (“The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ Matthew 25: 22”)
6. In thanks giving we get a clean start. “Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb has been sacrificed”. (1 Cor. 5:7)
