WHEN THINGS FALL APART

Cyclone

In this world we are faced by many situations that can result in severe stress, anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, grief, hopelessness and many other tumultuous emotions. These feelings can overwhelm us, ruin our health, and diminish our ability to move forward.

But when we trust God and seek His guidance, He helps us make our way courageously through uncharted waters. He gives us his peace; a calmness and joy that knows no understanding, so that we develop a better sense of control over our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to make good decisions and move forward.

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm centre. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale.

The Word of the Lord bids us to be strong and courageous as we face the storms. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

In which storm will you trust the Lord for deliverance? Seek to have a calm centre and you will acquire the power you seek.

Finding God’s Favor

The Holy Spirit

“But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.” Luke 1:10

How do get God’s favor? The bible says that you do this by growing in the wisdom which comes from the Lord.  Proverbs 8:35-36 says of wisdom, “For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD. But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death." Proverbs 9:10 also says “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…”

God’s favor is free for everybody. All you need to do is to have faith and make a choice to follow and serve him. Mary made a choice to live a a life led by God, to have God's will fulfilled in her life.  If you make a similar choice God’s favor will follow you. You will have the wisdom to make the most out of your life and be grateful and joyful for whatever you have been given, in good times as well as the bad.

God works through the faith we have in him. The good news is that Christ made our way easier to maintain our faith by becoming our everlasting priest, and part of us as strengthener and comforter.

Faith is not without worry or care, but faith is fear that has said a prayer.
