Sing the Song of Simon

Praises

Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:  “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” Luke 2:28-32

Simon had lived a long devout and righteous life and the Holy Spirit had promised him that he would not die until he had seen the Savior. When the baby Jesus was brought into the temple where he usually worshiped, he held him reverently in his hands and praised God. His heart rested and he was ready to rest forever in peace.

Have you embraced the Savior and seen his salvation?  Is all fear of death banished from you? The song of Simon reminds us that Christ came to save everybody. He came so that you can enjoy abundant life. He is what your soul has been waiting for. Embrace the gift.
