The pastor invited members of the Men’s Fellowship (KAMA) to sing in honor of their departed friend. They strode to the front, about ten of them, quite energetically despite the fact that they were all elderly; late seventies and eighties. Then they belted out a popular song enlivened with a lot of action; steps, twists, jumps and turns. Wow. People clapped and sang along. It was so beautiful; there were tears in my eyes, and in those of quite a few others. This occurred during the funeral of a friend’s father. These senior citizens had realized that age is just but a number and used their meetings to grow spiritually, physically and socially. Beautiful! There is no beauty like the beauty within you. And it radiates and blesses others. ***** “Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks. Not in what they say. Just in being what they are.” ***** |
