WHEN THINGS FALL APART

Cyclone

In this world we are faced by many situations that can result in severe stress, anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, grief, hopelessness and many other tumultuous emotions. These feelings can overwhelm us, ruin our health, and diminish our ability to move forward.

But when we trust God and seek His guidance, He helps us make our way courageously through uncharted waters. He gives us his peace; a calmness and joy that knows no understanding, so that we develop a better sense of control over our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to make good decisions and move forward.

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm centre. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale.

The Word of the Lord bids us to be strong and courageous as we face the storms. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

In which storm will you trust the Lord for deliverance? Seek to have a calm centre and you will acquire the power you seek.

Choices

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!" ( Romans 11:33 E.S.V)

I recently read the story of a Christian man whose son is gay. During a discussion with his son about his choices, his son remarked, “What makes you so sure that your religion is right?”

It is not easy to convince people that they are wrong. But this father has chosen to love his son unconditionally while praying earnestly that the Lord will deliver him and that subsequently the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit will guide and transform his life.

The Lord is calling us to roll up our sleeves, put on our farmer's hats replete with overalls and tenderly cultivate the soil of wayward hearts. This field is rough and even after breaking through the hard path the soil is still filled with many rocks, thorns, and thistles therefore making it difficult to sustain the seeds that are being planted. It's not easy, but the Lord calls us to be faithful to the Truth and to love unconditionally, and if we steady our hand to the plow I believe God will be faithful in delivering our loved ones who have gone astray.

Wise Quote: "The lectures that you give may be very wise and true, but I'd rather get my lesson by observing what you do. For I may misunderstand you and the high advice you give, but there is no misunderstanding how you act and how you live".
