WHEN THINGS FALL APART

Cyclone

In this world we are faced by many situations that can result in severe stress, anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, grief, hopelessness and many other tumultuous emotions. These feelings can overwhelm us, ruin our health, and diminish our ability to move forward.

But when we trust God and seek His guidance, He helps us make our way courageously through uncharted waters. He gives us his peace; a calmness and joy that knows no understanding, so that we develop a better sense of control over our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to make good decisions and move forward.

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm centre. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale.

The Word of the Lord bids us to be strong and courageous as we face the storms. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

In which storm will you trust the Lord for deliverance? Seek to have a calm centre and you will acquire the power you seek.

Head in the Sand

Do not bury your head in the sand

“But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God”. (John 3:21 N.I.V)

Denial is one of the most powerful forces in the world. It is more powerful than love or hate. Many of us go into denial because we want to protect ourselves from the pain, hurt; embarrassment or rejection.
The effect of denial especially when prolonged is self destruction. We have to face up to the truth of our pain in order to address it. No amount of denial will cure our illness, our relationships, or our financial situation. We have to wholeheartedly engage our emotions and aspirations and confront our problems courageously so that we can work to transform our situation.
We have to let the truth come to light and live by it. We have to act like Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea of the Bible who owned up to the fact that they were “Closet Christians” and make decisive actions to transform our lives based on the strength of our convictions.

The truth no matter how painful sets free.

Wise Quote: “You will find peace not by trying to escape your problems, but by confronting them courageously. You will find peace not in denial, but in victory”. ~ J. Donald Walters
