Grace

"But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace (it would be meaningless)". Romans 11:6 (AMP)

Some people use the excuse that because they stood once before others and said a prayer of salvation, their heavenly destiny is forever sealed, no matter what sins they commit thereafter. This belief which is referred to as antinomianism holds that since salvation is attained solely through faith and the gift of divine grace, Christians are not required to obey any law, whether scriptural, civil, or moral.  People who hold this belief perceive God’s grace as a license to sin. They believe they can sin all they want , then be forgiven by faith in Jesus Christ. The question is, though we are saved by God’s grace and remain sinners, can we truly receive Jesus into our hearts and remain the same? "Do we then nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather we uphold the law". Romans 3:31. We cannot have the Holy Spirit indwelling us and fail to have any fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us in fulfilling the law.

What kind of faith do you have? Is it gospel oriented, and based on love and commitment to Christ? If it is, then works must follow. As the Bible also says, “So you see, faith by itself isn't enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless”. James 2:17 (N.L.T.)

Antinomianism is a belief based on misunderstanding the Grace of God. You have to come to Christ like the “prodigal son”; ready to change, ready to follow His Word. You have to come to Christ in repentance and brokenness; ready for the journey of perpetual sanctification to become more and more like Him. As Jesus interceded for His followers, “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified”. John 17:15-19 (NIV)

Have you encountered this amazing grace?“. If you have, in which ways have you been changed?

"If a Christian remains in a carnal condition long after experiencing new birth, he hinders God's salvation from realizing its full potential and manifestation. Only when he is growing in grace, constantly governed by the spirit, can salvation be wrought in him." Watchman Nee
